CMS Fields & Settings

This guide fully explains the editing interface of the Content CMS: the header with all actions, the page panels in the centre and the media and display settings on the right. The Content Tree opens for page selection only. As soon as you work in the middle or right area, close it again – this keeps all fields readable and you avoid wrong clicks on other pages.

Open Content CMS Open an editor tutorial

1. Select the page – Open Content Tree only for this

Click on the top left of the CMS bar View Content Tree.
Select the language first and then open the required folders.
Click on the desired page. Title, ID and content are loaded into the workspaces.
Check in the middle whether there really is the expected page ID and the expected title.
Click the button on the top left again. The content tree is closed.

What is available in the Content Tree

DE and EN: Select the language that is displayed and edited in the tree.
New folder: Creates a new structure level under the selected folder.
New page: Create a page in the selected folder.
Search: Filter the tree by folder or page name.
Arrows on folders: Open or close this folder.
Edit folders: Opens folder name, parent, rights, and template.
Language indicators: show for which languages a linked version is available.

2. CMS header – every display and every button

After selecting, close the Content Tree. The header bar remains visible and always refers to the currently loaded page.

Page titles and key figures

(ID) Page title: confirms which record is loaded. Check this ad before changes and before deletion.
Pages: Number of pages in the current language.
Folder: Number of content folders in the current language.
Active: Number of currently active pages.

Show or hide Content Tree	Opens the left side selection or frees up space for the workspaces again.	Leave open for choice only. Close again before work in the middle or right column.
Store page	Saves page data, editor content and currently prepared page changes. `Strg`+`S` and `Cmd`+`S` saves the same page.	After that, the status changes to Saved. Media sub-regions with their own save button additionally store there.
Transfer to another language	Opens a preview in the master language for existing and new language versions. Title, permalink, description and content can be checked and adopted for each target language.	Preview and control target languages. For folders, the entire subtree can optionally be transferred.
Activate Auto-Sync again	Manually links separate language versions to the master again. Future master amendments may synchronize these language versions again.	Existing manual contents are initially preserved, but can be overwritten in later master changes.
Delete page	Opens a confirmation and removes the selected page.	Absolutely check ID and title. Media assignments are removed from the page, the files remain in the media stock.
Preview	Opens the currently stored CMS display in a separate preview window.	Unsaved changes are not reliably visible there. First save, then reload preview.
Save status	Shows Saved, Unsaved, an active save operation or an error.	This is a status indicator, not an action. Do not leave the page as long as changes are unsaved.
New page	Creates a new page record in the currently selected folder and loads it directly into the form.	The process is asynchronous. Wait until the new ID and the new title are visible, then set all mandatory information.
Duplicate the selected page	Creates a copy of the currently selected page and loads the copy.	Works only without unsaved changes. Make the title and permalink of the copy immediately clear.
Reloading	Reloads tree, page and media from the stored record.	Unsaved changes are discarded. This function is suitable for explicit resetting.
Assistance	Opens the user manual for the Content CMS.	The help does not change data.

Memory rule: Before previewing, duplicating, reloading or changing pages, always check the storage status. Yellow or “Unstored” means: The visible version does not yet exist completely in the stored CMS record.

3. Page panels in the centre

With a closed content tree, the entire width is available. The section Side contains metadata and publish settings; Below is the editor.

Field	Meaning	Recommendation
Title	Visible page title and designation in the Content Tree.	Formulate clearly, clearly and appropriately for the page task.
Permalink	URL path of the page, for example `tutorial-cms-editor`.	Use lowercase letters, speaking words and stable structure. Changes may affect existing links.
Content template	Determines which areas are used in rendering, for example title, hero, header, body, gallery or footer.	Change only if the desired side structure is known; Check the frontend and preview.
Status	Active publishes the page according to rights and navigation; Inactive takes it from the normal output.	Prepare new or incomplete pages initially inactively.
Description	Short summary for metadata, lists or search engines; maximum 254 characters.	In an understandable sentence, describe the usefulness of the page.
Keywords	Internal and semantic keywords to the page.	Enter relevant terms comma separated; No list of words.
Editor	The actual HTML content of the page.	For all functions, the separate Editor tutorial use.

4. Right column – Media and presentation

Here, too, the content tree remains closed. The right column can be faded in and out via its arrow button. It contains three independently usable areas: Hero, Gallery and In text.

Hero

Template: determines the hero representation; parent takes over the value of the parent folder.
Hero image: is over Selection from the media browser.
Distance above: additional distance before the hero; parent Takes over the folder rule.
Height: controls the hero height; existing responsive rules remain to be considered.
Variant: Select a configured display variant.
Hero Sticky: determines whether the hero is fixed when scrolling.
Scroll level: controls the intended scroll or parallax plane.
Storage: Saves the Hero settings. Then check the page preview.

Gallery

Overflow: determines whether and how further images are presented outside the immediately visible selection.
Click: sets the click behavior, for example Lightbox.
Selection: opens the media browser and assigns pictures to the slot gallery to.
Media cards: Show image, title and actions. Only the assignment to the page is removed via the trash.
Storage: Stores gallery settings and the intended order.

In text

Here are displayed media that the current page in the slot inline assigned to them.
Selection opens the media browser; the selected image can then be inserted into the editor at the cursor position.
An assignment alone does not necessarily create a visible place in the text. The image must be referenced in the editor content.
Alignment, width and size specifications of an inline image must be maintained during storage. After saving, reload the page and control exactly this representation.

5. New page step by step

Newly created CMS page with new ID, standard fields and closed content tree — After the asynchronous creation, the new page ID is loaded. The content tree remains closed for editing.

Open the Content Tree and select the destination folder.
Close the Content Tree again.
Click on the header. New page.
Wait until a new ID and a title like “New Page...” appear.
Replace Title and Permalink with unique values immediately.
Select Content Template and Status. For designs: Inactive The safe choice.
Fill in description and keywords.
Create the content in the editor and assign required media.
Save them, wait for Stored Then open the preview.
Control desktop and narrow display, links, images, rights and language versions.

6. Duplicate page

Open the source page and make sure there are no unsaved changes.
Click on Duplicate the selected page.
Wait for the new ID.
Change the title and permalink of the copy immediately.
Check content, links, media, status, languages and rights. A copy is not automatically independent domain content.
Save and preview control.

7. Secure workflow for changes

Select the page in the Content Tree and confirm it based on ID and title.
Close Content Tree.
Change page data, editor content or right settings.
For inline images, check position, orientation and size.
Use the appropriate memory button and on Stored wait.
Side over Reloading Read again from the CMS and check whether all values have been preserved.
Open preview and compare rendered presentation with the editor.
Only after successful check edit language, status or other pages.

8. Typical problems

Problem	Test sequence
Wrong side edited	Check current ID and title above → Open Content Tree → Select correct page → Close Tree again.
Change missing in the preview	Save status → Save page → Save the affected section → Reload preview → Check cache/guest view.
Image is different after saving	Inline assignment → image position in the editor → orientation → width/Größe → save → reload CMS → compare preview.
Duplication does not respond	Save unsaved changes first → Wait → Duplicate Again.
Reloading has removed content	Reload deliberately discards unstored changes. Restore the saved status or a previous version.
Language version overwritten	Master Language → Auto-Sync Status → Check manual separation or renewed auto-sync activation.

Common errors: If a control or record is missing, first check permissions, the active language, filters and whether the preceding step was saved.
