openWin opens forms, reports and helps within dbxapp. The current page is preserved, while several work windows can be opened, arranged and temporarily stored simultaneously.
What is an openwin window?
A link or action can open a floating dbxapp window. It has a title bar, its own content area and – depending on the task – buttons for reloading, minimizing, maximizing and closing. The page behind the window remains in its current position.

The controls in the title bar

Not every window shows all the buttons. The called function decides whether reloading, minimizing or maximizing is meaningful and allowed.
Minimize and restore windows
- In the title bar on the Measuring Click.
- The window disappears from the work area and appears with its title in the Window strip below.
- Click on the entry in the window bar. The window is restored and brought forward.
Minimize does not end the task. Content and inputs are usually preserved in the open window. First Closure Remove the window.
Move, change size and maximize
- Moving: Drag the free area of the title bar with the mouse.
- Change size: Move the drawing region at the bottom right of the window edge.
- Maximise: Click on the square.
- Recover: In the maximized window, click on the icon with the converging corners. Also included Esc ends the maximized view first.
Working with multiple windows
- A click on a visible window brings it forward.
- Minimized windows remain accessible via their title in the lower window bar.
- Close all windows In the lower window bar, all openWin windows end.
- When reloading a page, suitable work windows can automatically reappear. As standard, restored windows are stored in a space-saving manner.
Important: Before “Reload”, “Close” or “Close all windows” save changes to the form. Unstored input can be lost.
Keyboard and mobile devices
- With Tab switch to the buttons in the title bar; with Enter or the space key.
- Esc First, restore a maximized window to its previous size. At the next press, the active, closable window is closed.
- On small screens openWin opens as a full screen. Moving, minimizing, maximizing and manual size changes are hidden there.
If something does not work

| The window seems to have disappeared. | Look for a minimized entry with the window title at the bottom of the window bar and click on it. |
| One window is behind another. | Click on a visible part of the desired window or minimize other windows. |
| Minimizing or maximizing is missing. | The function is disabled or the device uses the full-screen mobile display. |
| After reloading, inputs are gone. | Reload replaces the window contents. Always save forms beforehand. |
| The window strip is empty. | Only minimized windows appear there. Visible windows remain in the work area. |
